procrastination...

so as you can see from the title, the purpose of this post is to avoid studying for my DST in Langue ecrite tomorrow. DST stands for devoir sur table, which is basically a mid-term and it literally means "homework on the table." im a bit worried about this class cuz the other day, our professor, laetitia, whos looks like shes 25, came up to my friend and me while waiting for the classroom to open, and said that our devoirs, which were just written paragraphs, were bad, and that we needed to work on our comprehension beaucoup. wow, that was the longest run-on sentence ever...and she added that she would allow us to write a paragraph each week for a grade, assuming it was good quality writing that wasnt written while lounging on the beach. ohh another thing about grades..my professors seem to be more sensitive about privacy regarding grades, but typically, names and grades are posted in the hallway, where everyone can see them. one thing they arent sensitive about is their language..oh gosh my litterature professor says that shes gonna strangle one of us like 5 times every class. anyway, school isnt all that bad..its pretty funny at times. like i mentioned before, French college students are always on greve, or protesting for some useless reason. besides the time that they brought desks and chairs half a mile away from the school to block a busy intersection, theyve been stacking and moving desks and chairs all over the building. some classrooms will be completely empty, and others will be filled with desks and chairs upside-down, barricaded by filing cabinets. apparently in some of the fob classes (international students like us), french students barged in and took out desks and chairs. the pictures posted below show the lobby of the main building.

and more updates about the shower situation..apparently when the proprietaire/landlord adjusted the water heater last night, it didnt really help (big surprise.) so when i gathered all my toiletries and got settled in the shower, claire came and shooed me back out, saying that the proprietaire would be here soon to adjust the temperature cuz of course the water was cold again. then, claire was so sweet and told me to use her shower!! hot water came out instantly, and the showerhead was placed neck-level, so a step up from the main bathtub. and you probably think claires a meanie cuz im always complaining about her, but shes supernice most of the time. this past weekend, when she was making crepes for her son, she made some for erin and me too!! saturday, we had ham and cheese crepes, which were sooo good!! it wouldnt taste the same in the US. and sunday, i had 3 dessert crepes filled with jam, nutella, and creme de marrons, omggg!! so much for la regime/dieting...oh goodness, im getting hungry now! so yeaa about that DST...i should prob get back to studying...after reading the updates on FML. =]
