im gonna rant just a little...its sunday, its cold and rainy, and theres no hot water. and there hasnt been in the past 3 days. yesterday i told a really cold shower, but my roommate can stand cold showers..and its been 3 days! whenever claire says shes "fixing" the cold water problem, i swear, shes been making it worse. before, we'd be sharing the bathroom among 5 girls, and the water would only get cold at night, cuz the hot water heater recharges at midnight. but we're not allowed to shower after 10PM, so its basically first come, first serve. too bad the new kids always wake up early, even on weekends. so by the time erin and i wake up, which is always before noon, theres no more hot water! and claire has her own water heater, so she doesnt have to deal with any of this. shes always complaining about us using too much water, but hello?? you do realize that there are 6 of us sharing a bathroom?..and she leaves the water on for her entire shower, whereas we have to take 5 minutes army showers or she goes crazy. not to mention the fact that shes always complaining about money. and that last month she spent 300 Euro on utilities, which is ridiculous!..yea ridic cheap (!!) considering it includes water, gas, electricity, internet, and phone (!) for 8 people in an apartment. and she spends no more than 400 Euro on groceries a month. so basically one person's rent covers all the utilities and groceries for the entire month. so what does she do with the remaining 3,600 Euro not to mention her real job, or even the allocations (free money that all employed French citizens receive from the government)?? shes gonna buy a vacation home in Italy! it sucks cuz shes turns all nice on us when we start to get fed up...and then we feel bad for talking about her when shes so nice to us. anyway excuse my ranting..im just avoir-ing le cafard.
for the past few nights, erin and i have been going to visit christine at her apartment cuz lindsay (theyre roomies) has been gone for the entire week on vaca avec la famille. its been so much fun just sitting around, sipping on wine, eating crepes and ice cream, chatting until 2AM...omg i feel so old!! its about time i enjoy the finer things in life, lol. but yea sortir-ing every night is getting kinda old. well now that i cant even take a shower, i really dont wanna go out. i miss our old girls, lotte, luisa, and eliane. we had finally gotten close with them, and then they had to leave. now we have had to deal with dutch 16-year old boys who cant seem to aim well (oh gosh, just imagine the toilet), cute italian girls who are sooo sweet, but we can barely communicate with, and austrian 16-year-olds girls who talk about us in german. it sucks that everyone speaks English like perfectly, except the italian girls who could barely even speak French. So no one ever wants to speak french cuz its so much easier in english. im getting tired of trying to make awkward conversation when no one else wants to talk during dinner. omg and there was claire-hair in my food yesterday!! ughhhh...and she prob doesnt even wash it everyday.
im about to finalize my vaca plans for june. my parents and sister are gonna come visit..theyre gonna hit Barcelona before coming to Nice..then were gonna mosey our way up to London, to fly to Copenhagen, Denmark (land of the happy people!), then end back in London. i only get a week off to join la famille, but hey, im not complaining. and since were planning so far in advance, all the tickets for the whole family will cost twice the amount im using for spring break, just for myself. at least i get to see 4 cities, well kinda. im looking out the window again...whoever said that whenever it rains in nice, it pours..totally lied. its always damp and dreary for days at a time, but were not even getting enough rain to flush out the city. well i guess we dont need that cuz the streets are power-washed every night anyway. we're supposed to have one day of good weather on monday, then back to yucky weather for the rest of the week. so much for tanning on the beach.

Christine, once again, I am going to express my complete jealousy over your fun, cultivated, eye-opening experience in Nice. The fact that you went to Italy for a day when you had school off is ridiculous. I wish I could do that. There's nothing all too exciting surrounding CP. Keep posting pictures; they're so nice to gaze and look at.
I am however, not so envious about the shower situation. That kinda sucks and is totally unfair.
